About Us

Life. Skills. Sports. offers a unique, personalized camp experience for young individuals with disabilities (of all kinds) in the North Shore and surrounding areas. Campers will learn everyday life skills (ELS) to help them grow and develop on and off the field. Our mission at L.S.S. is to provide campers with an environment where they can feel safe being themselves, and through sports, learn life-long skills that they can apply and begin to set themselves up for success. L.S.S. offers a unique combination of high level athletic training and skill development, with life skill coaching, mentoring, tutoring, community engagement outings and more.  This Summer, your camper can select from a wide range of activities and sports, customizing their ideal camp experience based on their personal preferences. Some options include private coaching sessions, small group sessions, large group opportunities. Other flexible options include, time of day (mornings, afternoons, weekends), method of payment, focus activities such as athletic training and skill development, life coaching, meditation, yoga, strength and conditioning, tutoring, regulation techniques, reading assistance, writing assistance, organizational skills and executive functioning development, and much more. L.S.S. has a certified Social Worker on site twice a week throughout the summer. If this is something you and your camper may be interested in, just be sure to indicate so on the camper intake form! My main priority is to meet all families where they are at.

I believe that instilling a firm understanding of the fundamental and necessary life skills in ALL children, early on, is 100% fundamental in setting them up for success as they transition into the ages of figuring out who they are. A child's understanding of how to approach and handle social interactions with peers is critical in their development, because without it, their ability to sympathize and learn from others is hindered, making it more difficult than it needs to be for them. Of course, there are also other important factors (home-life, extracurriculars, living environment, access to resources, etc.) that greatly impact a child's ability to socialize normally with same-aged peers and have the potential to hold an individual back.

It is these beliefs, that I keep in mind, when I need the energy or motivation to keep going, to keep growing, to keep working on stepping outside of myself and focusing on helping all campers grow as individuals, not just athletes.

What will your camper get at LSS?

This Summer, your interested camper can select from a wide range of activities and sports, and customize their ideal camp experience based on their personal preference. Some of the options include private coaching sessions, small group sessions, large group opportunities and other customizable options mentioned above. At Life Skills Sports, your camper can expect to receive personalized,  high level athletic coaching, training and conditioning, while focusing on life skill development and growth as an individual. This is an amazing way to keep your child on a good, healthy routine to aid in a smooth transition back to school at the end of the Summer. Campers will spend sessions having FUN (first and foremost), and using sports and physical activity as an aid in learning about and practicing valuable life skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, socialization, working as a part of a team, selflessness, planning ahead, punctuality, responsibility and holding oneself accountable, humility, mindset and mind and body regulation strategies. We provide daily 1:1 check-in’s with LBS1 certified teachers, social work with a certified Social Worker on site (as needed/requested by campers or their families), toileting needs (as needed) and feeding assistance. One on ones are also available upon request.
